Communication Expectations
Communication Expectations
How We Communicate:
-
Check your teams group chat regularly during the season
-
Communicate absences as early as possible
-
Use respectful language when contacting coaches
-
Allow reasonable time for a response
-
Avoid addressing major in any group chat
-
Handle concerns privately, not in front of athletes or other families
-
Safety concerns should be communicated right away
This is important because your coaches are volunteers and your parent packet already asks families to be patient because coaches have work, family, and other obligations.
Schedule Changes
Practice and game times and dates may change due to weather, field availability, league updates, or other circumstances. When changes happen, updates will be shared through your teams group chat as soon as possible.
Reporting Absences
If your athlete will miss practice, a game, or a team activity, please communicate with the coach as early as possible. Attendance matters because there is a short window between the practices and the games.
Emergencies or Safety Concerns
If your athlete is injured, sick, experiencing symptoms, or has a safety concern, please communicate with a coach as soon as possible. Safety concerns should not wait.
