Practice Expectations

​

Players are expected to:

• Arrive on time and ready to work

• Bring all required equipment

• Listen when coaches are speaking

• Give full effort during drills, conditioning, and team periods

• Encourage teammates and help build a positive practice environment

• Stay focused and avoid distractions

• Communicate with coaches about injuries, concerns, or issues

• Finish practice with the same effort they started with

Players who do not meet practice expectations may lose playing time or be held out of team activities until they are ready to meet the standard.

     Game Day Expectations

​

Players are expected to:

• Arrive on time and prepared

• Wear the correct uniform and equipment

• Listen to coaches during warmups, games, and halftime

• Support teammates whether they are on the field or sideline

• Respect officials and opponents

• Control emotions during difficult moments

• Avoid arguing, taunting, or negative sideline behavior

• Give full effort until the game is over

• Win with humility and lose with accountability

Game day is a chance to represent the Malone Panthers with pride. Players are expected to compete hard, support their teammates, and show respect before, during, and after the game.

     School and Academic Expectations

​

​Players are expected to:

• Attend school regularly

• Complete schoolwork and take academics seriously

• Show respect to teachers and school staff

• Avoid behavior at school that reflects poorly on themselves or the team

• Communicate if they need support

​

Student-athletes are students first. Being part of the Malone Panthers program means taking school seriously and understanding that discipline matters both on and off the field.

     Safety Expectations

​

Player safety comes first. Every athlete is expected to take safety seriously and communicate honestly with coaches and parents.

Players are expected to:

• Tell a coach if they are injured, sick, dizzy, or not feeling right

• Never hide an injury to stay in practice or a game

• Follow equipment and contact rules

• Use proper technique

• Listen when coaches give safety instructions

• Respect the safety of teammates during drills and competition

A player may be held out of practice or games if coaches believe it is necessary for safety.
 

    Attitude and Team Culture

 

Attitude affects the whole team. Players are expected to bring energy, focus, and respect to everything we do.

Players are expected to:

• Be coachable

• Stay positive during mistakes or setbacks

• Encourage teammates

• Accept correction without arguing

• Take responsibility for their role on the team

• Help create a culture where everyone can improve

No player is bigger than the team. Every player has a role, and every player is expected to contribute to the team culture.

    Playing Time

 

Playing time is earned. Coaches make playing time decisions based on preparation, effort, attendance, attitude, safety, coachability, and team needs.

Players should focus on what they can control:

• Effort

• Attendance

• Attitude

• Preparation

• Listening

• Improvement

• Supporting the team

Players are encouraged to ask coaches what they can do to improve. Questions about playing time should be handled respectfully and at the right time.

    Accountability

 

When expectations are not met, coaches will address the issue directly. Accountability may include a conversation, reduced playing time, sitting out of practice or games, parent communication, or additional steps depending on the situation.

Accountability is not meant to embarrass players. It is meant to help players learn, grow, and understand the standard required to be part of the team.

The Malone Panthers want every athlete to grow in discipline, confidence, accountability, teamwork, and character. Football gives us the opportunity to learn lessons that go beyond the field.

We expect players to compete, improve, support each other, and represent the Malone Panthers with pride.
